Artist's Comments

Just a sorta quick overview of what the skycoat in caelupes actually looks like/is. Again used Raven as example, cause, well, she's Raven :D

Raven got quite an extensive sky coat, just the barest amount of her normal coat still visible when she's in a hunt/needs to blend in.

Just added a couple real quick backgrounds to better show what they're about :) (I think the tree took me maybe 5/10 minutes to do :D)

In case they're not obvious, the pictures show:

TopLeft: Raven without skycoat
TopRight: In really sunny/hot weather during day-time
MiddleLeft: During a clear night in the forest
MiddleRight: During a clear day in the forest
BottomLeft: Snow at night
BottomRight: Snow during the day

As you might have guessed from the descriptions, the term 'skycoat' isn't exactly accurate, as also their surroundings influence the colour of the skycoat, but meh, I don't care :D

I hope this clears up some things :)

Hehe, it's sorta explained in the 'The Longhaired Skywolf' picture. Forest caelupes have skycoats (individual for each caelupe) which change colour depending on the weather and their surroundings. This is basically a second layer of fur which they let rise up when hunting or hiding.
