The pregnancy went well and Dragonfly had no problem fitting into life at GFS for the duration of her pregnancy. Whips were rarely (if ever) used at GFS, so the mare had a stress-free gestation period.

Despite it being her first pregnancy, Dragonfly didn't have any problems delivering. She did go into labour about two weeks before the predicted time, but nothing worrying. She delived without assistance (even if the vet was there just in case) a healthy dark red filly.

Collie looked into the box, where the little filly was just struggling to her feet. Little white sprinkles in her coat indicated she'd inherited her sire's Birdcatcher spots.

"She's beautiful." Collie whispered to no-one in particular.

Two days later, the filly went outside for the first time. She was very inquisitive, sniffing at everything and anything; seemingly scared of nothing. Even when Firecloud ran past, chasing a cat, she only looked up curiously.

Collie had very high hopes for this little lady.
