Frigid Meeting

'One foot in front of the other... just place one foot in front of the other...'

Not too long ago, though he couldn't really say if it was moments or hours, Dary had woken up and found himself confronted with a big white nothing all around him. Everywhere he looked there was snow, snow and more snow... In the distance there were mountains, but those were covered in snow too...

He'd started walking in a direction that he'd felt made the most sense... for some reason.

Now he was quickly tiring; walking through the snow was incredibly tiring. To make things even worse, snow started to fall and the wind picked up. In reflex, Dary wrapped his arms around himself to keep warm against the, soon, howling wind and snow. He paused for a moment.

'Why am I not cold?'

He was slightly chilled, sure, but he was certainly not freezing... and he felt that could just not be right. Not with the wind howling around him and the snow nearly blinding him. He looked down at his hands, they weren't white or red with cold; they looked perfectly normal. Just a hint of redness around his knuckles were all that showed it was cold.

'Am I dreaming?' He wondered.

Part of him felt he was; all this certainly felt surreal. But the tiredness that felt as if it encompassed his entire being didn't agree with the dream-idea.

And why was he here anyway? Wherever here was...

'One foot in front of the other...' He repeated to himself again. He wondered how long he could keep this up; he was so tired.

Time went by and the walking went harder and harder. For moments he almost fell asleep on his feet. He stumbled.

He forced himself upright again, but soon he stumbled again.

'Is this the way I'll die? Is that why I'm not feeling the cold?'

He blacked out.

As for why he's not freezing... that's something Dary himself doesn't even know. You'll just have to wait and find out later why he's not freezing
