As Reckless was led into the foal pasture with his newest daughter, he smiled as he looked down upon the frolicking foals below the hill. *Home again.*
As he kept looking, his smile grew bigger as he saw Frost laughing and playing along with the other foals; it had been disconcerting to see the colt so depressed when he'd left.
*Daddy?* The filly pressed against his side nickered softly. *Who are they?*
*They will be your friends really soon, little one.* Reckless explained. *Would you like to say hello to them?*
*Nuh-uh!*
But it looked as if the other foals had other ideas... Stormwing at the front, the four foals currently occupying the pasture came barreling up the hill. Lightning seemed a bit reserved as she lingered back, but the others were clamoring to have a look at the new arrival.
Hot Coal meanwhile, had pressed even more against Reckless, nearly disappearing underneath him.
*Hello...* Stormwing greeted as his half-sister laid her head upon his back to look around him at Coal.
Coal didn't respond, but she did stretch her neck to look around Reckless' legs.
Reckless smiled again, knowing it would be best to give Coal some time to get used to these new faces.
*Lookit, she's got a horn!* Frostnight exclaimed excitedly. *It's not very big, though, is it?*
*Aren't you going to say something?* Stormwing asked, cocking his head.
*She's a bit shy...* Reckless told the oldest colt.
*Am not!* Coal mumbled, but made no move to step away from Reckless.
I got this image into my head when I decided Coal was shy, and I couldn't resist drawing it

- Reckless the black tobiano stallion
- Hot Coal the golden-eyed sooty buckskin tobiano
- Frostnight the cyan-black half-equatra
- Stormwing the bay paint with the pink eyes
- Winter's End, the black filly with crème-coloured mane (and tail)
- and Lightning the silver dapple red-eyed yearling filly
btw; any background tips/suggestions are more than welcome, because I'm still not satisfied with how they look in my comic... This one I rather like atm though...

I'm a little lost with all the names and story as I just stumbled upon this after using the search word 'Foal' but oh my gosh, it is amazing! I love your art style, your horses are so different than anything I've seen. I especially love Reckless, Coal and Frostnight. I knew I had to click on this picture to get the background. I hope there is more to this story, I'd love to find out more about the characters.
